About Rebecca Beran
Hi! My name is Rebecca Beran. I’m currently a fourth year medical student at University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine. I am going into family medicine, with special interest in OB, lifestyle education/counseling, and international health. I’ve grown up in inner-city Chicago, and have attended Rock of Our Salvation Evangelical Free Church since age 3. Rock Church was founded to be a place of intentional racial reconciliation, and continues to be a racially diverse church. Having grown up in this environment, topics such as race and culture are areas of special interest to me. I am excited about the opportunity to explore a new culture as I live and work in Cameroon for the next two months (Jan 17 - Mar 14, 2008).
