Giving most when time are toughest

December 21st, 2008 Posted in INMED

I’m witnessing a remarkable phenomenon: people wanting more than ever to help the poorest of the poor, regardless of the distance or obstacles. Medical volunteers are stepping forward to assist at our affiliated hospitals like never before. Students are enrolling in our medical missions training in growing numbers. Donations to INMED are far beyond any previous year.  I realize that this is completely counter intuitive in the midst of the current economic state. Could it be that the financial downturn is causing some people to count their blessing rather than dwell upon whatever they may lack?
