Whew. The whirlwind of activity has finally subsided - boards x2, check. Best friend’s wedding, check. Packing and finishing up stuff for Ghana….well, I still have a few days :) Yes, I am the perpetual procrastinator, but somehow things always work out in the end.

I leave for Ghana this Saturday from San Diego. I will be flying into the capital city of Accra (a-CRAH) via Washington D.C. and Frankfurt, staying overnight at a Baptist guesthouse, flying to Tamale the next morning, and from there, taking a bus to the hospital at Nalerigu. My friend Angie from Milwaukee said it well when she said that it would feel like I’m at the the end of the world after all of that traveling. Yay! I’ve always wanted to go to the end of the world.

The to-do list for the next few days is quite long, and includes spending time with my parents, finalizing my residency application, packing, and last-minute shopping. Is it possible to feel excited, anxious, jittery, and disbelief about leaving all at the same time? I think it is. I’m just trying my best to stay close to Jesus at this point and to keep trusting that He has me safely in His hands. There’s no better place to be!
