landing-s.jpg is this a field…nope it’s our landing strip!! scary!

plane.jpg the plane…do you know how to fly it dad?

cockpit1.jpg the cockpit, i didn’t get to sit in the front but it was still an exciting ride!

i have a tons more pictures of various animals i’ve seen so far but i’ll have to do it tomorrow. it’s almost time for dinner. i spent last night and tonight in the OR (the theatre they call it here) yesterday i waited 3 hours to deliver a baby, the mom never progressed so we took her to do a c-section. i was first assist! unfortunately the baby came out not breathing, we did revive him but he was gone for a long time. pray for both him and his mother, we have no idea what the outcome will be. today i saw a patient in clinic with septic arthitis/osteomyelitis which is a surgical emergency. this is a very common operation in the states by orthopedic docs so i was interested to see how they did it here without the technology and supplies we have. we just finished and it was very interesting and educational. in the end the same goal was achieved but the means of getting there were very different. these docs simply have to think outside the box…i’m starting to as well.

i have so much to say about the weekend too but it will have to wait.

have a great night! my goal for the week is to deliver a baby….outside the OR. i’ll keep you posted!

So glad you got to experience the small plane! My uncle has flown us over the mountains in Alaska and the ocean, so I can relate. He showed us places where they land on top of mountains to leave hunters, that looked scary!
What a beautiful overview to see the land!
I am with you better than seeing a bat any day! Ughh!
    Our prayers are with you,
    Love, Joleen Thornton

Wow…babies, how fun! Our next door neighbor had a little girl last week, a friend has a new grandson as of last week, and I worked in the church nursery 2 days ago…holding sweet babies :-). Gives me the itch….:-).
We are proud of you and your abilities for delivering & surgery, etc, for all you are doing and accomplishing. Becky says your Bible Study is going well!
Glad it was you in the tiny plane and not me…the Grand Canyon trip did me in for small planes…unless God has that in His plans on a mission trip :-). Oh but what a view…
Blessings to you…much love and prayers from Etown KY.

hi Mil, hope the baby is doing ok. Your plane is a tail drager and while I could fly it I have never landed one. Tail dragers are backwoods work horses and like to land on grass fields. We are having a cold wave. Temp at camp is going down to minus 25 F (-31 C) tonight. I’ve been laying tiles on the cellar floor. Got three rows done, 13 per row. I can only do about 7 tiles and I’m finished for the day. Not a bad workday, eh!

It all fit in the Element amazingly enough. He is taking a hymn class now and hoping to arrange some to play at his church. Take good care. Love you much. Mom
